FAQs and Pricing

what is microblading?

Microblading is a subtle-looking enhancement that creates the illusion of fuller brows. The process involves carefully implanting pigment beneath the surface of the skin using tiny hand needles to create the appearance of individual hairs. Unlike the process of traditional tattoos, the hand needles can create crisp thin lines or “hair strokes.” Microbladed brows are designed to fade gently over time, allowing the artist to make changes to color and shape over the years as your natural coloration and facial structure change.

does microblading hurt?

Bearing in mind that pain is subjective, most clients say they experience little to no discomfort during microblading. A topical anesthetic is applied to the brows before and during the procedure to ensure comfort. Minor sensitivity returns after the topical anesthetic wears off. You may experience minor tenderness and swelling for a short time afterwards.

How long do the procedure and touch-up session take?

Once I deem that you are a good candidate for microblading, we schedule an initial complimentary patch test consultation to make sure that you do not have a reaction to the pigment.

Following the consultation, microblading is a 2-step process: an initial session to establish shape, and a perfecting session 4-8 weeks later, during which I will assess your pigment retention and make any needed adjustments. The first session takes approximately 2 hours and half hours. The touch-up session usually lasts about 1 hour and 45 minutes.

how long does microblading last?

The pigments won’t wash away like makeup; they are designed to fade over time. Different factors including skin type, sun exposure, pigment color (lighter colors fade faster), and chemical peels coming into contact with the area, will affect how fast the pigment breaks down. For best results, it is important that you follow the aftercare instructions. Most clients come in for a touch-up every 1-2 years or as needed.

patch test

We require a 48 hour patch test to ensure that the client will not have an allergic reaction to the anesthetic and pigment. This appointment lasts approximately 30-45 minutes.

a client on the microblading process

In my 20-plus years of being a client and friend to Susan, I can truly say I trust her opinion and appreciate her creativity. Susan has an ability to make anyone feel welcomed. She enjoys giving an experience, so that makes her special.

When Susan expanded her services to include microblading, I was eager to learn more. Her excitement was contagious. She knew I had a health condition that causes thinning brows and that I had had electrolysis on my brows in the past. It’s been devastating having thinning brows on top of the normal aging process. I just hated it.

Susan’s reassurance and explanation of the procedure calmed my nerves at the beginning of the microblading process. She explained how she would measure my face and how she would cut and dye the new brows. She was very good at explaining each step and informing me about the steps to take during post-care. I felt good going into this, and Susan was really great during the procedure. I trusted her creativity and vision 100 percent. Six weeks later, I could not be happier! I love my new brows. I feel like they are part of me now and I would never not want to have them. At first it was hard to see myself with them, but it didn’t take me long to realize how glad I was to have done this for myself! It was worth it.
